What is the weather like in Sapporo in Feburary?
It is very cold! And snowstorms are not uncommon. We took our thermal underwear and ski wear which was perfect for marching round the snow covered streets and looking at the statues. But we were surprised to find that underground there were fantastic shops and it was heated. So when it got too cold we went down the stairs into the mall and found lockers for our gear and shopped in cardigans and t-shirts.
In 2009, the Snow Festival will be held from February 5 through February 11, 2009.
